Firefighter Dies Extinguishing Flames of Emirates Plane at Dubai Airport

A firefighter lost his life extinguishing the blaze of an Emirates plane which crash-landed in Dubai on Wednesday.

A firefighter died while extinguishing the flames of an Emirates airline passenger jet that crash-landed at Dubai International Airport, the Dubai Media Office said Wednesday, citing civil aviation authorities.

​The GCAA launched an investigation into the crash-landing five minutes before the aircraft’s scheduled landing. Flight EK521 with 282 passengers and 18 crew members on board was flying from south India’s Thiruvananthapuram to Dubai.

Up to 10 passengers have reportedly been treated for smoke inhalation and minor injuries.
