A team of 37 scientists have developed a new diet which could change the way the entire world eats.

The “planetary health diet” is based on cutting red meat and sugar consumption in half and upping intake of fruits, vegetables and nuts.

OK, so what am I allowed to eat?

The daily allowance

  • Chicken – 29g
  • Red meat – 14g
  • Fish – 28g
  • Whole grains (bread, rice, etc.) – 232g
  • Starchy carbs (potatoes, etc.) – 50g
  • Legumes (beans, chickpeas, lentils, etc.) – 75g
  • Vegetables – 300g
  • Fruit – 200g
  • Dairy – 250g (equivalent to one glass of milk)
  • Eggs – 13g
  • Nuts – 50g
