  • Complaining of bloody diarrhea, crampy abdominal pain, and tenesmus
  • Colonoscopy will show continuous mucosal inflammation always involving the rectum
  • Treatment is sulfasalazine, surgery is curative
  • Complications: Toxic megacolon, ↑ colon cancer risk
